I like this direction they are going in, giving us more of a choice instead of just tagging along. But considering this is an MMO, I’m not sure that at the end of the day our choices will matter much. We shall see. 🙂

It’s definitely interesting approach. I’m eager to see how this idea will turn out!

Iam glad i have sat this one out and will then choose carefully when this all plays out or i will just continue not to do this questline.

You choose to play the proper side (Horde) and see the content or play the wrong side and see nothing.r
r
It’s not too expensive to change your faction, you know.

I’m glad I get to keep the gift of N’zoth. The Old Gods will be good for the entire planet. They will save us from the war and the Autobot complex of the alliance leader!

None are “Alliance” the way the others are “Horde”. Alliance only gets one for blacksmithing but it’s not exclusive to them

Dont worry, alliance will get a choice when they have a civil war and internal conflict….. ah who am i kidding, alliance faction leaders disagreeing on anything? forget it.

Like gating half the story behind factions (Horde and Alliance have no idea what’s happening on each other’s island. You MUST play alts to get the full story), this is yet another way for Blizzard to increase MAU; want to experience the full story for YOUR OWN FACTION? Play alts and pick option 2.

I’ll be going with Baine on this, as I’ve never been a fan of Sylvanas, Forsaken nor elves, but rather been a fan of the Trolls, tauren and orcs.r

I’m curious how it’ll all end towards the end of the expansion.

Didn’t we see the datamines where Baine confesses his guilt already?r
This makes these choices so inconsequential and merely an illusion to make you feel like your choice matters but it really doesn’t at all. I feel like this just works as trust meter for Sylvannas in which we will possibly see a different cutscene by the end of the expansion. This would be great, if the choices you made changed the course of the “entire” story up to that point, but it won’t, instead they come across as “Give us your sub money for two years so you can finally see what your choices led to”. r
r
If player choice is a big thing of BfA, then I fear for the little things.

I remember the good ol’ days of WoW when there was no Horde or Alliance. When they were introduced in WoD it was nothing but a naked cash grab. It’s not like Warcraft had a history of promoting a faction war prior to that.

Six seats at the high table. Six mouths that hunger. One will consume all others.

This may be a reference to the Pantheon. There are 6 members of the Pantheon: Aman’thul, Eonar, Norgannon, Golganneth, Khaz’goroth, and Aggramar. They have been dead for eons and have just been revived. They may be “hungry”… and one may end up becoming corrupted.

To be fair, we have had 3 player choices so far (DH choosing between kayn or altrius, the saurfang questline and the horde darkshore questline) and of the 3 the DH one is the only one with real consequences. The saurfang one was whether you want the toy or not, and sira dies in the darkshore one regardless, so by going of those 3 our decisions haven’t really made a difference

What’s your point? When you read a book, you only gain the knowledge of the story in that one book. If you want another story, you have to read another book.

Same thing here. There are two factions, if you want to know the other side of the story, you either have to play on the other side, or read about it secondhand. You can’t expect to get both stories told from a single viewpoint.

If you feel slighted by not being able to experience all possible branches of choice in a game on a single character, then just read about them later. Pick the path you feel morally in line with and just go with that, because 100 to 1 odds it’s not going to make any significant difference in the end.

To be fair, Tyrande was pretty pissed that Anduin wouldn’t send reinforcements to Darkshore right away.
