I began as Alliance. And I still AM alliance... but I've played some horde alts. And noticed a few differences.
I have noticed a slightly higher maturity level with the horde. I don't get as many tells that are like "OMG you're a girl?" etc. etc. BUT, I personally couldn't stand leveling horde. I hated the leveling areas. They were... miserable. I like happy, lively areas... and I definitely was not getting that with horde. Also, even though there was a higher level of maturity, there was a lower level of fun. It seemed that people took things more seriously... and overall, it's still a game to me. I like to be laughing and having fun.
So anyway, I prefer Alliance. And also, honestly, what is more fun than playing a freakin gnome and ganking a tauren? Lawl. Just fun stuff.
Oh... and yea. I know alliance has a lot of "little kids"... but they can be pretty hillarious ;D I seem to recall an 11 year old boy that played... and ALWAYS interrupted peoples' ventrilo conversations talking about inappropriate topics. Nothing more hillarious than that XD. I'm pretty sure there's still youtube videos of this kid's conversations.
Pretty much all of the differences that I found could have been personal. I'm sure not everyone thinks the horde are boring mature players all the time. But... that's just what I found.
