Jonu - I've always liked the name "Juno" because to me it sounds masculine and simple(like big warriors) I'm into history and mythology so I knew that Juno=Hera(Not as manly....) in Roman mythology. Shortly after I made him, the Movie "Juno" came out and I was like "/facepalm" Thankfully the name was already taken so I went with Jonu.
Danté - Blood Elf males remind me of Latin pretty boys(like this mofo right herehttp://foodiegang.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/salsa-dancers.jpg) so I picked a Latin name :P Plus I've always loved that name too.....it also fits in with Dante's Inferno too but I didn't know about that until years later.
Mateyo - Sounded like it could be a Jamaican name so I went with that.(Even though it's Spanish) Also, it just looked good on a troll. Plus, it was the name of a really short Spanish kid in my class a long time ago :D
Trezz -(Used to be Dalarian) I thought of a BE mage as having a sort of long and complicated name but I didn't want to get too into it so I just named him Dalarian...people still messed up in pronouncing the name so I finally just named him Trezz short and sweet. It's not from anything, just made it up but I think it sounds cool.
Runo - I thought it would be cool for druids to shape shift into rhinos so that's where I got my inspiration on that one.
Karâjj - When this name came to me I was thinking of something along the lines of the tale of the 40 Thieves and thought this sounded middle eastern XD
I like to name my characters something short and sweet so they're easy to remember and say. I know I could have had fun and named my characters silly names but I figured that if I was going to play them a lot that I didn't want people to refer to me as Hotboxlol, pedobearr or Stealyourradio, you know, stuff like that. :D
Reidalor- I got from my everpresent friend when my medication isn't helping my stomache, Rolaids of course :P
Shalodus (Silverwood)- Ive had this name for over 15 years now, back when I played alot of AD&D
Stormenergy (Thundersword)- True story. I got this name after I had moved to PA in 2002 and was constantly getting struck by lightning, my MechWarrior buddies said I had an energy about me that attracted storms and it stuck with me ever since. Every house Ive lived in since 2002 till I moved to Crescent City, CA in June of this year, has consistently been struck by lightning thus keeping me true to the name.
Glacieral Miste- From 1991-2002 I used to live in Alaska. This name came from the cloud-like mist I used to watch coming off of the glaciers in the mountains.
Luthias was a name that went way back to my D&D days as a kid, so I recycled it when I made my first character, a paladin, back in Vanilla WoW. I didn't realize until years later that it's actually a real name with German origins and that it means "Famed warrior." I just thought it sounded good... lol.
My DK is Lutheron, mainly just so people still know it's me and can continue to call me Luth.
Nyctemann was a randomly generated name. He is a hunter with a chimera pet named Bellerphon. That name came from mythology named after the hero that slayed a chimera. Second toon is Everaiya. I came up with that. Last I checked, there were only 2 of us in the whole game. Third is my Rogue, Trustme. Then I have a warlock named Shadea'aru. Named after a character from Terry Brook's Shannara series.
I have a few names that I name my characters for WoW.
Karrash - This one was a deviation of an older name, Karradiin, that belonged to an old warrior toon I had back when BC was it. I was thinking of a middle eastern name for my warrior just because it seemed unique at the time. My name is pronounced Ka Rosh, two syllables, although people still can't pronounce my name right XP
Haydrien - This is a newer one I made up, I'm going to name my first Worgen this. Whether I race change my warr or make an entire new toon I want it to be a worgen with this name. When I think about it the name sounds like it could be a girl's or a boy's name, that's what I think anyway.
Zyzayne - This is the name of a troll rogue I just started, simply put I thought it sounded cool.
My main character is from the Book of the Kingdoms trilogy by Agnus Wells
Taws (Belf Warlock)-"In the north, a fire rages through the world-spanning forest of Beltrevan. Out of the flames is born terrifying being with monstrous powers--Taws, messenger of the fire-god Ashar. The ancient prophecies say he will raise a great Horde from the warlike tribes of the north to bring destruction to the peaceful Kingdoms of Tamur, Ust-Galich, and Kesh."
The other character I play most is Brannoc (Orc Hunter) which is a character from the some trilogy (though one with a much smaller part in the story), I believe he is only in the first book. He is a "hunter-type" character in the books, a loner, lives in the woods off of his own hunting skills and all that good stuff.
Zexyz - my first toon was called Xexyz in vanilla , a very OLD NES game. People used to either not know it or not understand the name and call me "ex-ee-ex". I changed it when i rolled a the DK class for Lich. The phonetic in vent says Zex-eez now...not Zex-is. But it doesn't matter. love my guild, all cool folks!
Ahys - pronounced "ICE". LOVE frost spec, which is why i dont raid with her, she's mostly a farmer now, I played her alot in BC when i switched to Horde (never going back to Ally).
Sayeene - My oldest toon! Switched faction when she realized the leetness of the Horde. This toon was formerly Xexyz on Dalvengyr, moved to Area 52 and changed to Diveena, and now she is Sayeene. I just randomly made up that name >.>
Vrail - my little rogue. I always loved that name for a rogue, reminds me of braille..or something...whatever :/
